What is Nutritional Therapy?

I practice nutritional therapy with a functional medicine approach. This means I’m focusing on looking for the root causes of symptoms and looking at a person as a whole, rather than as isolated systems (digestive, hormonal, immune etc.)

Functional Medicine is preventative, personalised and participatory. Designed around the needs of chronic disease where diet and lifestyle play a key role.

I ask “why do you have these symptoms?” rather than “what drug can be used to suppress them?”

We are all biochemically different and no one approach works for everyone.  What may be one person’s ‘superfood’ may be another one’s poison.

To get an in-depth understanding of your health I take a thorough health history and sometimes diagnostic testing is needed. This is a way to ‘look under the hood’, to find your particular imbalances which we will aim to correct to help you reach optimal health.

My Nutritional Therapy is up-to-date evidence based. It is very well suited to individuals with immune related conditions, but also to those looking for support to optimise their health.

I regularly attend nutrition and functional medicine webinars with top of the field doctors and practitioners, to keep up with the latest research.

Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice. It is a complementary therapy that works well alongside conventional medicine and whenever necessary, clients are referred to medical professionals.
